After architect Mark English lent his vision to this Woodside, California home, the owners called upon Breeze to activate the interior for family life. The resulting decor is understated and minimal, but still entirely family friendly, while honoring the home’s extraordinary surroundings. Natural materials and strategic use of the color blue make the interior feel like a seamless extension of the outside. The project combines Japanese aesthetics with Italian modern panache. Minimalist interiors in concrete, wood, and steel are softened by the collected interiors and Japanese-inspired grounds. Over 1,000 trees and plants were added under the direction of Ron Herman, renowned for the gardens at Larry Ellison's nearby estate, and John Nishizawa from Kyoto. It has become a one-of-a-kind retreat for relaxed family living amid the fast pace of Silicon Valley.
