About Breeze

Born into natural beauty

Breeze’s design journey began in her native Hawai’i where the power and beauty in the land inspired an early appreciation for art, interiors and space as well as a formative connection with nature.  This permeates Breeze’s perspective and design sensibilities. She attributes being a bit removed from the mainland mainstream in giving her the confidence to walk to her own beat as well, which continues to serve her as a creative.

From Honolulu’s Punahou School, she went on to earn degrees from Wellesley College and Harvard Law.

A leap towards happiness and possibility

Ten years into her career as a private equity lawyer, Breeze could no longer sideline her true calling, and pivoted to pursue a Masters of Interior Architecture. After honing her skills at an architecture firm and mentoring with hospitality icon Michael Bedner, she launched her eponymous interior design studio in 2013.

Alchemizing influences

Breeze’s design ethos is influenced by the gestalt of her global background. A pastiche of local and international inspiration is woven into her early influences of growing up amidst Hawai’i’s natural playground. Her studies brought her to Denmark for her Masters in Interior Architecture, immersed in the rich modernist design traditions in Copenhagen. Through her transformative journey, she has also studied and lived in Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Mexico and Italy. As her interior design projects became global, places like San Miguel de Allende, México have become a home away from home with a new blend of product and design inspiration.

Designing to lift the spirit and nurture the soul

Breeze has since built a reputation for deeply bespoke interiors that reflect a rich and refined take on comfort and livability. While function is at the heart of every project, she lives for pushing boundaries, playing with scale, direction, pattern, and color in unexpected ways, always weaving the narrative of her clients into the spaces crafted just for them.

Rooted in art and nature, Breeze’s interiors are layered, adventurous, and designed to lift the spirit and nurture the soul.

“I’m a collector at heart and a curator of meaning and beauty. I like my interiors to tell the story of their inhabitants – there is nothing more personal than how we live.”

Published and Award Winning Design

Featured in publications ranging from Architectural Digest to House Beautiful, Breeze was named Editors' Pick for the HGTV Designer of the Year Awards, an honor for which she is regularly nominated (in 2023 garnering nominations for a record-breaking 6 projects). In addition to appearing on several popular design shows, including Nate & Jeremiah By Design and Property Brothers At Home, she serves as a go-to source on all things color, pattern, collecting, and the art of unlocking joy in your space.

Honoring nature and giving back through community stewardship

To support her passion for community stewardship, Breeze donates time and resources to several non-profits and over the years has sat on the boards of various non-profits, including the Dupont Underground, Creative Visions Foundation, and the Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST). She continues to be a loyal member of the Liljestrand Foundation’s Design Circle in Honolulu, HI.

Breeze splits her time between Los Angeles, California and her beloved home state of Hawai'i with dedicated teams in both locations to support the vision for our national and international projects.

“Hawai’i is at the core of who I am. Before I knew architecture, I understood the horizon line. The shape of a wave. Palm trees and their rustling fronds. The island was my first design laboratory (I was the kid dreaming up Ewok villages in the palm trees).

Growing up in Hawai’i set me on the circuitous but inevitable path toward a creative life.”
